Sagar Padwal is an architect and filmmaker working at the seam between built space and moving image. Fifteen years in practice — across hospitality, residences, healthcare, nightlife, and most recently government museums — paired with a cinematography diploma from Prague Film School and a working credit list as director, DP, and art director.

His work begins from one premise: that a room is a scene, and a scene is a room. Both run on the same vocabulary — light, material, rhythm, restraint. Both are designed to be moved through, not just looked at. That premise is what makes the practice difficult to file under a single title, and what makes it worth doing.

Trained as an architect at Dr. D.Y. Patil College, Sagar began at Sameep Padora & Associates in Mumbai, working on parametric generative design. He spent the next decade leading interiors and concepts across the country — Pizza Express in Andheri, the Illuminati Nightclub in BKC, the One Avighna Park lobby in Lower Parel with its 52,000-crystal chandelier, the Noor Hospital NICU, salons and lounges and academies from Hubli to Kolkata. He took the Diploma at Prague Film School in 2017–18 — director, DP, editor, art director, gaffer, depending on the day.

Since 2024 he has been Head of Design at CSDirekt in New Delhi, overseeing gallery interiors and dioramas at the Indian Museum, Kolkata, and developing pitches for the Tea Museum in Assam and CASE Technologies' experience centre in Indore. In parallel: a 20-key beach retreat in Dapoli, a sculpture for Serendipity Art Festival being hand-forged by a UK blacksmith, and a slate of vertical-format work for OTT.

The long ambition is Selora — a small constellation of curated boutique stays designed and filmed as living narratives. Spaces as stories. Stories as spaces.
